Respect for People With Endurance

This past weekend, it was required for all students on the Fountain Valley High School track team to volunteer at the Central Park Invitational (CPI) cross country meet. Normally a kid would think of this job as extremely boring, but soon you realize how fun it actually is. You get to form stronger relationships with your teammates as you work together to keep the runners on the course, give them water, etc. You even start to appreciate nature and learn to place yourself in the miserable distance runners’ shoes.

I’m quite lucky to not be suffering from heat exhaustion due to tripping over large tree roots and running up ridiculously steep dirt hills.
